Goals of this journey

Travel

YAC is the opportunity for young people, sometimes from rural areas, to discover other provinces in Cambodia and beyond. You will discover new places, new contexts, showcasing different types of agriculture and facing intercultural exchanges.

Youth group

As a group of young like minded people committed to agroecology and sustainable agriculture development, you will learn about teamwork and co-creation, you will be led into participatory workshops and debates, and you will share a unique experience throwing the basis for strong friendships.

Sustainable agriculture practices

We will be visiting a diversity of farms, covering a wide range of productions. From vegetable production to animal raising, including beekeeping and conservation agriculture, you will discover some of the latest innovations taking place in this region. YAC participants will have privileged exchanges with inspiring farmers and entrepreneurs about their practices and about their own journey.

Agroecology values

The farm visits, the discussions and debates should provide plenty of material to approach the conceptual part of agroecology. What meanings does this word hide? What values are you defending when you promote agroecology? What is an agroecological farm system? How does it include social aspects? YAC should provide food for thought and collective answers to apprehend this complex concept.

Network

Going from farm to farm and sharing YAC outcomes with the people we met will connect agroecology stakeholders with the YAC group and with each other as well. Broadening agroecology networks in SEA will enhance knowledge sharing and accelerate the development of agroecology.

Communication about agroecology

YAC is calling for creativity and inspiration! You will be trained in creating communication supports such as case-study reports and videos, using social media to share this kind of knowledge, and share your ideas and values.

Overall, the goal of YAC is to strengthen youth involvement in agroecology, by linking agroecology stakeholders to each other and youth,  and to enhance the communication and reflection about agroecology in Cambodia.
